JH Dental Clinic Sample Cases
Contained below are some examples of the work we have helped our patients with, please note that some of the images are fairly graphic in nature.
Tooth Whitening
There are many methods of improving the appearance of the teeth. The best method will vary from patient to patient. The following two cases show how differing methods produced excellent long term results.

This 17 year old patient had his teeth whitened because of heavily discoloured teeth which were developmentally caused. Although the teeth were not decayed the stained did cause this patient a great deal of concern. The end result was very pleasing and had a positive effect on this patient’s confidence!
Case 1
Dental Implants
Dental implants are small titanium screws which are placed to replace missing teeth. Implants have been shown to be successful for over 35 years. We currently accept patients for all types of implant work and use the well established Straumann® system.

Dental implants are the best way to replace teeth and produce a very life like end result. This patient had worn removable plastic dentures for over 30 years and wanted to have implants to replace the missing teeth. Dental implants were simply placed in the practice and after a 2 month healing period fixed teeth were attached. Placement of a dental implant takes about 30 mins and can be painlessly done under local anaesthetic (Injection).

We currently accept patients from other dental practices for implant treatment and have been involved in placements over the past 5 years. In addition we are preparing a clinical guide book to help with ongoing developments in this area.
Case 2
Cosmetic Fillings

Tooth decay affecting the front teeth was treated using a highly aesthetic white filling material which restored this patient’s smile enhancing his confidence!

This patient had a broken front tooth restored with pleasing cosmetic results

There are numerous methods of treating patients with undesirable gaps. This case involves a cosmetic method that took less that one hour to complete and is permanent and does not damage the teeth in any way. This patient wanted to have a gap closed without damaging the teeth by drilling. A white ceramic based filling material (Composite) was used close the gap and improved the overall appearance.
Case 3
Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain facing (Veneers) were attached to the surface of the teeth to improve the appearance and give this patient a more confident smile.

Veneers were used to restore this patients front teeth which were worn down by a highly acidic diet.
Case 4
Crowns & Bridges

This patient had poorly aligned front teeth and a bridge was used to improve her smile.

Broken front teeth restored with crowns. The crowns used contain no metal Procera® and are the most life like crowns. These avoid a grey line which can appear around the gum line from some crown systems.

Multiple missing upper front teeth were replaced by a bridge (where the crowns are linked). By this method we were able to avoid this patient from having to wear plastic false teeth. Cosmetically, the results were pleasing.
